Discover the fascinating era of “Vienna 1900” in this magnificent building on the Ringstraße boulevard. The design and arts and crafts of this legendary cultural epoch, known as Jugendstil and Secessionism, are an exceptional part of art history.

The expansive MAK exhibition “Vienna 1900” is dedicated to the development of the Vienna arts and crafts movement from 1890 to 1938. It tells the story of the search for and emergence of a unique Viennese style and illuminates social and political aspects of the era in which Viennese Modernism was embedded.

MAK showcases masterpieces of the Wiener Werkstätte by Gustav Klimt, Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser as well as precious furniture, glass, porcelain, silver, and textile design from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Highlights:
